In your Football Betting Data 'Christmas special' today:

  • Cash-in on Aston Villa v Arsenal on Boxing Day...
  • 100% record alert! - And it belongs to Hull City...
  • 5 Goal Scorers to follow over Christmas...

Christmas is here - and there's a mountain of Premier League action
to look forward to between now and the New Year! Aston Villa play
Arsenal on Friday evening - live on Sky Sports - and I've got 2
standout bets on that game for you.

Plus - there's a 100% record to impress your friends and family
with round the dinner table (or at the pub). And a betting 'hit
list' that could have the bookies hiding behind their Christmas
trees!

We'll start off with a trip to Villa Park on Boxing Day...

Aston Villa v Arsenal

Friday 26th Dec, 5.15pm
Live on Sky Sports 1
Ref: L.Mason

League positions: Aston Villa 3rd - Arsenal 5th

Match odds: Aston Villa 13/8 - Draw 12/5 - Arsenal 2/1

These two met just last month - with Villa pulling off a 2-0 away
win. For the Boxing Day re-match, the stats highlight bets in the
Cards and Corners markets...

Cards and Booking Points

Aston Villa have posted some consistently 'low' home Booking Points
stats this season. They've only got more than 1 yellow card in a
game once - and they've picked up NO cards at all in 5 of their 9
games at Villa Park.

Villa have won the 'Most Booking Points' in a game just once at
home this season. And in 66% of their home games, Villa's opponent
has been shown the 'Most Booking Points'. The same figure goes for
the 'First Card' - Villa's opponent have got it in 6 out of 9
games.

The averages below show that Arsenal away games have featured more
Booking Points than Villa's home games. And Arsenal are averaging a
card more 'For' than Villa per game (eg. 10+ Booking Points).

Aston Villa - Home
Booking Points For = 5.5
Booking Points Against = 17.2

Arsenal - Away
Booking Points For = 18.3
Booking Points Against = 20.5

Arsenal's opponents have only picked up the 'Most Booking Points'
in 3 out of 9 away games this season - and an Arsenal player has
been shown the 'First Card' in 66% of their away games.

Bets on Arsenal to get the 'First Card' would have paid out a
winner in 4 of their last 5 away games.

Last weekend Aston Villa picked up just 10 Booking Points (v West
Ham) - and Arsenal got a high 55 Points against Liverpool.

This game's live on TV, so bets will be available on both Arsenal
to get the 'Most Booking Points' and Arsenal to get the 'First
Card.' The 'Most Booking Points' bet is the safer option as it
covers the whole game - and you'll also get bigger odds on that
market.

FBD says:

  • Arsenal to get the 'Most Booking Points' @ 11/10 (2.10) with
    Skybet and Blue Square

Check with Ladbrokes and William Hill for 'Most Cards' or 'Most
Booking Points' bets too.

OR

  • Arsenal to get the 'First Card' @ 4/5 (1.80) with Skybet,
    Blue Square and Expekt

And now for the Corners stats...

Corners

Aston Villa have a 'high' Corners For average at home so far - but
that's mainly due to some big corner tallies in a couple of games
(11 corners in their 0-0 draw with Fulham, for example).

Arsenal have 'high' Corner For figures too - especially for an away
team - AND better Corners Against averages...

Aston Villa - Home
Corners For = 7.11
Corners Against = 5.00

Arsenal - Away
Corners For = 7.00
Corners Against = 3.55

Despite those averages, Villa have actually only won the most
corners in 4 out of 9 games at Villa Park. And in their 2 games
against Arsenal's fellow Premier League 'big boys' - Liverpool and
Man Utd - Villa were out-cornered by opponents trying to break down
their defence...

Aston Villa 0   Liverpool 0
5 corners         8 corners

Aston Villa 0   Man Utd 0
3 corners         6 corners

Arsenal have won the most corners in 66% of their away games so far
(6 out of 9 games) - and they've only been out-cornered by the home
team once (3-2 at Chelsea).

When it comes to 'Corner Handicap' bets, you'll usually find
Arsenal given a 'minus' handicap to overcome...

But for this game, there looks to be some good value on offer - you
can actually bet on Arsenal with a 'plus 1' handicap. That bet
wins as long as Villa don't win the most corners.

If you'd been able to back Arsenal with that '+1 Corner Handicap'
in all their away games this season you'd have bagged a whopping 8
out of 9
winners.

FBD says:

  • Arsenal '+1 Corner Handicap' @ Evens (2.00) with Stan James
    and Betdirect

Also - have a small 'saver bet' on the 'Corner Handicap Tie' @ 13/2
(7.50), to cover your stakes in the event of Villa winning exactly
1 corner more than Arsenal.

100% record alert!

Hull City are the ONLY team in the Premier League that have scored
in all of their away games this season...

They've hit the back of the net at least once in 9 out of 9 away
games. An impressive 100% record that includes trips to Manchester
Utd (lost 4-3), Arsenal (won 2-1) and Liverpool (drew 2-2).

This Friday (Boxing Day) Hull play away again - this time at
struggling Manchester City...

If you want to follow that 100% trend, Paddy Power will give you
2/5 (1.40) that 'Hull score 1 or more goals in the match.' Or you
can get 23/10 (3.30) that they score '2 or more.'

And finally - here's a little Christmas bonus for you...

Goal Scorers - 5 players to follow over Christmas

We've gone through the Premier League's Top Scorers chart, the
recent form, the festive fixture list and the bookies' prices - and
identified our Top 5 players that look good value for 'Anytime
Scorer'
and 'First Goalscorer' bets between now and the end of the
year...

  • Peter Crouch (Portsmouth)

  • Djibril Cisse (Sunderland)

  • Gabriel Agbonlahor (Aston Villa)

  • Steven Gerrard (Liverpool)

  • Michael Owen (Newcastle)

All of those players are available at around 13/8 (2.63) - and
sometimes much bigger - in the 'Anytime Scorer' markets for the
next 2 rounds of games (Boxing Day and weekend of the 28th).

And for 'First Goalscorer' bets, you'll get 6/1 or bigger.

League goalscorer bets here:

Good luck with all your Boxing Day bets! I'll write to you over the
weekend with a results update - and a look at the best bets for the
next round of games on Sunday...

Merry Christmas!
