The 'home win' doesn't look great value at 4/9 (1.44) here -
Liverpool lost 2-0 at Middlesbrough at the weekend and drew 1-1 at
home with Man City before that. Sunderland have drawn their last 3
away games, including their most recent fixture - a 0-0 draw away
at Arsenal.
CORNERS - Liverpool are big favourites
Liverpool have won the most corners in 11 of their 13 home games -
a high 84% record. Sunderland have won the most corners in just one
of their 13 away games (that's 7%). When they played at the Stadium
of Light earlier in the season, Sunderland won 1 corner and
Liverpool won 8.
Liverpool are just 1/6 (1.16) with Blue Square, 888 Sport and
Betfair to win the 'Most Corners' tonight. The 'Corner Handicap'
markets give you more options though...
The data on our website shows that Liverpool average 6 corners more
than opponents at Anfield. And that Sunderland away average over 2
corners less than opponents. Some bookies are giving Liverpool a
big '-5 Corner Handicap' to overcome tonight. That would require
Liverpool to win at least 6 corners more than Sunderland.
- There's a better bet on offer at William Hill - where you can
back Liverpool with a smaller '-3.5 Corner Handicap' @ 4/6 (1.67).
That bet wins if Liverpool win at least 4 corners more than
Sunderland.
Backing Sunderland's opponent with a '-3.5 Corner Handicap' would
have paid out a winner in all 5 games they've have played against
the Premier League's 'Big Four' clubs so far this season - Man Utd,
Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal.
You'll find the best odds on that '-3.5 Corner Handicap' here:
http://odds.sportsbettingxtra.co.uk/football/england/premier-league/
GOALS - No Torres for Liverpool
Liverpool are without star striker Fernando Torres tonight (ankle
injury). This season, games at Anfield are averaging 2.10 total
goals. And Sunderland's away games are averaging 2.3 goals.
When these two played earlier in the season, there was just one
goal in the game (1-0 to Liverpool).
The data on our site shows over half of all Liverpool home games
and Sunderland away games have gone 'Under 2.5 Goals' this season
(53.8% each). And both teams have played out several 'low goals'
games recently...
Bets on 'Under 2.5 Goals' would've paid out a winner in 4 of
Liverpool's last 5 games - and in 4 of Sunderland's last 5 games,
too.
Liverpool's last 3 home games have all been 'Under 2.5 Goals' - and
so have Sunderland's last 3 away games.
'Under 2.5 Goals' is available at around 8/11 (1.73) tonight. And
slightly better odds are available in the 'Goal Line' market at
Ladbrokes.
Odds booster...
We've listed a couple of options for Liverpool v Sunderland there.
To boost your odds, why not try combining bets like 'Under 2.5
Goals' and a Liverpool 'Corner Handicap' in a Double tonight...
'Under 2.5 Goals' and Liverpool '-4 Corner Handicap' pays out at
over 2/1 (3.00) with Bet365.
A quick word on the Portsmouth v Chelsea stats...
Portsmouth v Chelsea
TONIGHT - Tue 3rd March, 7.45pm
Ref: P.Dowd
FIRST CARD - Play up Pompey
Our Head-2-Head data shows that Portsmouth have got the 'First
Card' in 53.8% of their home games, and Chelsea in the same
percentage of their away games.
Check out the Team Data pages on our website and you'll see that
Portsmouth's figure is above the Premier League's home 'First Card'
average of 41.6%. And that Chelsea's figure is below the away
average (54.4%).
On recent form, the home team look the favourite to get the 'First
Card' here...
·
Portsmouth have got the 'First Card' in 4 of their last 5
games at Fratton Park
·
Chelsea have only got the 'First Card' once in their last 5
away games
It's also worth noting that in ALL of the 6 games Portsmouth have
played against the Premier League's top 5 teams this season, a
Portsmouth player has got the 'First Card.' That includes their
game away at Chelsea earlier this season.
This game isn't live on Sky TV, but Paddy Power and Expekt both
have 'First Card' markets up.
And finally...
Cash-in on this 'Tuesday Night Special'
William Hill and Victor Chandler are offering a market on which
Premier League game will have the 'most goals' tonight...
·
West Brom v Arsenal is a best price 8/5 (2.60) with Victor
Chandler
·
Liverpool v Sunderland is a best price 7/4 (2.75) with
William Hill
·
Portsmouth v Chelsea is 7/4 (2.75) with both bookies
Looking at the Goals stats and Head-2-Head records for all those
teams, the Portsmouth v Chelsea game looks a good pick to be the
highest scoring game tonight...
When Arsenal played West Brom earlier in the season there was only
one goal scored. And Arsenal have just played out 4 goalless
Premier League games in a row.
There was only one goal in the last game between Liverpool and
Sunderland, and as mentioned above, 4 of both teams' last 5 games
have had 2 or less goals in them.
Chelsea have beaten Portsmouth 4-0 twice this season (in the league
and in the Carling Cup), and they have the highest away goals
record in the Premier League this season (24 Goals For).
Portsmouth's last 5 games at Fratton Park have seen 16 goals
scored - that's an average of 3.2 goals per game.
