In your FBD update today:

  • Last week's results - 2 out of 3 winners
  • 9/2 and 11/8 Goalscorer advice pays off...
  • Ronaldo odds-on for the Golden Boot

The Premier League returned with a bang at the weekend!

Late, late goals gave title chasers Liverpool and Man Utd important
victories. And at the bottom of the table things are starting to
look very bleak indeed for West Brom and Middlesbrough, who both
lost again.

Last week's results - 2 out of 3 winners

On the betting front, we landed 2 out of 3 winners from our 'FBD
says'
bets. The only one that let us down was the 2/1 'Most Booking
Points' bet on Blackburn - and that was on course until the 80th
minute, when Tottenham's Wilson Palacios was controversially sent
off for two fouls in two minutes. See below for the full results.

And - love him or hate him - Cristiano Ronaldo did the business at
the weekend. His 2 goals against Aston Villa were great news for no
fewer than 3 of our bets...

9/2 and 11/8 Goalscorer advice pays off

In Friday's email we flagged up Ronaldo and Peter Crouch as good
Anytime Scorer and First Goalscorer prospects for the weekend.
Portsmouth drew 0-0 at Hull so there were no goals for Mr Crouch.
But Ronaldo scored the First Goal against Villa...

Ronaldo was 9/2 (5.50) to be First Goalscorer. And we also
highlighted him at 11/8 (2.38) in the Anytime Scorer market.

We'll be highlighting more big odds bets between now and the end of
the season - looking at the Goalscorer and Correct Score markets as
well as Match Results and all our regular Corners, Goals and
Booking Points bets.

3/1 Ronaldo now odds-on for the Golden Boot

Back on 28th January we recommended a bet on Ronaldo to be the
Premier League Top Scorer at 3/1. He's now level with Nicolas
Anelka at the top of the chart on 15 goals, and the bookies make
him the odds-on favourite to take the 'Golden Boot' at just 4/5
(1.80).

Crazy 'Correct Score' prices at the weekend...

We recently looked at some of the best 'Correct Score' trends in
the Premier League this season. Chelsea to win 2-0 was in that
list, and it paid out again at the weekend - with the Blues winning
by that score away at Newcastle. That was a 6/1-shot with the
bookies.

Skybet are worth a mention for some 'crazy' odds in the 'Correct
Score'
markets at the weekend - check out these odds on West Brom v
Stoke...

Stoke to win 1-0 @ 5/1
Stoke to win 2-0 @ 25/1

That's a pretty big difference between two pretty similar score-
lines! And wouldn't you know, Stoke only went and recorded their
first away win of the season... with a 2-0 win.

'FBD says' - results from Friday's bets

Here's a rundown of our 'FBD says' bets in Friday's email...

Blackburn 2 Tottenham 1

Booking Points: Blackburn 10 Tottenham 35
First Card: Blackburn

FBD said:
Blackburn to get the 'Most Booking Points' @ 2/1 or 7/4 - LOST

A red card for Tottenham's Palacios in the 80th minute cost us our
bet here. Until the last 10 minutes of the game, Blackburn were
leading the Booking Points 10-0.

  • We also mentioned Blackburn to get the First Card, available
at 6/5. If you took that option, then you backed a winner.

Arsenal 2 Man City 0

FBD said:
Arsenal 'To Win To Nil' @ 6/4 or 11/8 - WON

Arsenal are yet to concede a goal at home this calendar year.
They've now won 9 home games this season - and 7 of them 'To Nil.'
That bet often pays out almost double the odds of the straight
'home win.'

Man City have now been beaten 'To Nil' in 5 of their last 6 away
games.

Bolton 4 Middlesbrough 1

Total Cards = 3 yellows
Total Booking Points = 30 pts

FBD said:
'Asian Total Cards - Under 3.5' @ 9/10 or 'Under 3.5 Cards' @ 5/6 -
WON

Both teams - and the Referee, Alan Wiley - had 66.7% 'Under' stats
going into this game. And playing the percentages worked out for
us, with a total of 3 yellow cards landing our 'Under 3.5' bet.

Well done if you backed a couple of winners at the weekend - and by
all means let me know if you cashed-in on Ronaldo scoring against
Aston Villa. Drop me a line anytime with your winning stories,
