Last night saw one of the most exciting Premier League games
ever...
Liverpool and Arsenal played out a thrilling 4-4 draw - with 2
goals coming in time added on at the end of the game!
We certainly didn't see a 4-4 Correct Score coming - that was a
300/1-shot with the bookies - but our 'key data' in Monday's email
highlighted the Draw at 5/2 as the value bet for that game.
Liverpool and Arsenal have now drawn 4 of their last 5 meetings in
all competitions, and have drawn 11 times each in the Premier
League this season. Only Newcastle (12) have drawn more games.
There are 2 more games tonight - here are the standout stats...
Chelsea v Everton
TONIGHT - Wed 22nd April, 8pm
Live on Sky Sports 1
Ref: M. Halsey
We'll stay away from the results tonight - but there are some very
reliable bookings trends on show...
Cards and Booking Points
Both teams have strong 75% records here...
Chelsea - Home
Under 35.5 Booking Points = 75% of games
Total Booking Points average = 28.7 pts per game
Recent form = 4 of last 5 games 'Under'
Everton - Away
Under 35.5 Booking Points = 75% of games
Total Booking Points average = 26.5 pts per game
Recent form = all of last 5 games 'Under'
'Under 35.5 Booking Points' and 'Under 3.5 Cards' bets have paid
out a winner in 12 of Chelsea's 16 games at Stamford Bridge this
season - and in 12 out Everton's 16 away games, too. Those 75%
records make this game a good match-up for a 'low bookings' bet.
And the Referee for this one has the lowest record in the Premier
League...
|
KEY DATA - The Referee
We've been following Mark Halsey's games all season, and time after
time he's taken charge of 'low bookings' games. He has the lowest
'Cards per game' average in the Premier League, at just 1.48.
Halsey has refereed 21 Premier League games and 19 of them have
paid out on 'Under 35.5 Booking Points' and 'Under 3.5 Cards' -
that's a 90% strike rate.
|
With both teams - AND the Referee's stats - pointing 'low,' it's no
surprise that the bookies are offering bets on 'Under 25 Booking
Points' and 'Under 2.5 Cards' tonight - instead of the usual 35
points and 3.5 cards...
However, the stats still look solid for an 'Under' bet:
- 3 of the last 5 Chelsea home games have had 20 or less
Booking Points
- 3 of the last 5 Everton away games have had 20 or less
Booking Points
For the season as a whole, 50% of Chelsea home games have had 20 or
less Booking Points (8 out of 16 games). While 56% of Everton away
games have had 20 or less points.
And 75% (16 out of 21) of the Referee, Mark Halsey's games have had
20 or less Booking Points, too.
Paddy Power, Stan James, William Hill, Betfred, Boylesports,
Partybets and Victor Chandler are all offering bets on Under 25
Booking Points. And at Bet365 you can bet Under 2.5 Cards.
Booking Points explained:
Yellow Card = 10 points
Red Card = 25 points
Max. points for one player = 35 points (yellow + red card)
Man Utd v Portsmouth
TONIGHT - Wed 22nd April, 8pm
Ref: P.Walton
Cards and Booking Points
The stats here match-up well for a 'low bookings' bet too, with
both teams having 73% records...
Man Utd - Home
Under 35.5 Booking Points = 73.3% of games
Total Booking Points average = 30.3 pts per game
Recent form = 3 of last 5 games 'Under'
Portsmouth - Away
Under 35.5 Booking Points = 73.3% of games
Total Booking Points average = 25.7 pts per game
Recent form = 2 of last 5 games 'Under'
The Referee for tonight's game also has a 70%+ record...
Peter Walton has taken charge of 21 Premier League games this
season, and 15 of them have paid put a winner on 'Under 35.5
Booking Points' and 'Under 3.5 Cards' bets - a 71% strike rate.
|
KEY DATA - The Referee
Peter Walton has the 2nd-lowest Premier League 'Cards per game'
average (behind Mark Halsey).
P.Walton
Average 'Cards per game' = 2.76
'Under 35 Booking Points' and 'Under 3.5 Cards' games = 71%
|
Both teams AND the Referee have strong 'low bookings' data. Just
like the Chelsea v Everton game, the bookies have set their line
low at Under 25 Booking Points tonight.
Bets on Under 25 Points are available at Paddy Power, William Hill,
Victor Chandler and Partybets at around Evens (2.00). And at Bet365
you can bet Under 3 Cards...
