It was an eventful weekend in the Premier League - with the
stats giving us 4 out of 5 winners from the bets in our Friday
email. Read on for the full results. When it comes to
football, though - some things are impossible to predict...
Bent's bizarre beach ball goal!
Did you see Darren Bent's goal on Match of the Day? He scored
the only goal in Sunderland's 1-0 win over Liverpool - his
shot deflecting in off a big red beach ball that an away fan
had thrown on to the pitch! I've never seen anything like it.
Referee Michael Jones - after talking to his assistant -
allowed Bent's goal to stand. But officials have since said
the goal should have been disallowed and a drop-ball given on
the edge of the penalty area.
- As it is - that's another goal for Bent, making him the
Premier League's joint-top scorer on 8 goals. And putting him
top of the Paddy Power 'Top Scorer Handicap' chart with a
total of 19, after adding the +11 goals handicap I highlighted
at 22/1 at the start of the season.

Aston Villa pulled off a surprise win against Chelsea on
Saturday - but thanks to the stats we had two winning bets
from that game...
Aston Villa 2 Chelsea 1 - 'Shock-proof' stats!
Total Corners = 15.
Team Corners = Villa 6, Chelsea 9.

Chelsea -1 Corner Handicap @ 6/5 - WON
Chelsea were odds-on favourites to beat Villa. But the stats
highlighted better options in the Corners markets. There were
15 corners in total, landing all 'Over' bets on offer with the
bookies at the weekend. 100% of Chelsea games have gone Over
10.5 Corners.
And the Blues won 3 corners more than Villa, covering both '-
1' and '-2' Corner Handicaps - bets that would've paid out a
winner in 8 out of 9 Chelsea league games so far.
Blackburn 3 Burnley 2 - Another away defeat

Blackburn have now won their last 3 games in a row at Ewood
Park. Burnley have lost 5 out of 5 away games - and conceded
17 goals in the process, a high average of 3.4 Goals Against
per game.
Man Utd 2 Bolton 1 - A winning Double...
Total Corners = 15.

Man Utd were just 1/4 to win the game. We boosted those odds
by combining the Match Result in a Double with the Total
Corners. 100% of Man Utd home games and Bolton away games have
had at least 11 corners in them this season.
Sunderland 1 Liverpool 0 - Just one (strange) goal...

Before this one 100% of Sunderland home games and 7 from 8
Liverpool games had seen at least 3 goals scored. However
there was just the one goal in Saturday's game - and that was
a bizarre one, with Darren Bent's shot going in off that stray
beach ball (!) and sending 'keeper Pepe Reina the wrong way.
