Another weekend of shocks - plus Hughes sacked...

The Premier League threw up some more shocks this weekend, with both
Liverpool and Manchester United losing and Chelsea being held at
West Ham.

The pressure is mounting on Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez as his
side lost for the 7th time in the league this season - 2-0 at
Portsmouth - while Manchester United had a miserable trip to London,
losing 3-0 against Fulham.

Chelsea failed to take full advantage of United's slip up after they
were held by local rivals West Ham 1-1 at Upton Park.

But the biggest shock of the weekend came on Saturday evening when
Manchester City announced that Mark Hughes was being sacked and that
former Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini was taking over with
immediate affect. It's believed that the decision to sack Hughes was
taken before City's 4-3 win over Sunderland.

Last week's results

Wolves 2 Burnley 0

FBD said:

  • Asian Handicap Corners - Wolves -2 @ Evens - LOST

Wolves moved out of the bottom three with this 2-0 win over Burnley.
Unfortunately for us the game ended level on 5 corners for each
side.

FBD said:

  • Time of First Goal - 1st to 30th minute @ 17/20 - WON

Nenad Milijas opened the scoring for Wolves in the 15th minute. It
now means that in 15 of Wolves' 18 games this season the First Goal
has come Before 28th Minute. In 72% of Burnley's games this season
the First Goal has come Before 28th Minute.

West Ham 1 Chelsea 1

FBD said:

  • Over 2.5 Goals @ 3/4 - LOST

In all 8 games before their meeting against Chelsea, West Ham's home
games had produced Over 2.5 Goals. That trend ended yesterday with
the game finishing 1-1.

FBD said:

  • Asian Handicap Corners - Chelsea -3 @ 19/20 - LOST

Yesterday's game also finished level on the corner count - with both
sides winning 5 corners each.

Man City 4 Sunderland 3

FBD said:

  • Over 10.5 Corners @ 3/5 - LOST

There were 7 goals in Mark Hughes last game in charge of Manchester
City with the home side coming out on top. Unfortunately for us the
game wasn't the high corner affair the stats had indicated, the
final corner total was 9.

FBD said:

  • Most Booking Points - Sunderland @ 7/10 - WON

Sunderland have now received the Most Booking Points in 7 of their 9
away matches this season. The final Booking Points total was Man
City 20 Sunderland 45.

Arsenal 3 Hull 0

FBD said:

  • Arsenal -5 Corner Handicap @ 11/10 - WON

Arsenal kept up their fantastic corner winning against Hull on
Saturday. The home side won 8 corners compared to Hull's 0. Arsenal
have now won the Most Corners in all 8 of their home games so far
this season. Overall they have won the Most Corners in 15 of their
17 games (88.2%).

The final game of the weekend takes place tonight when Wigan face
Bolton. I'll be back on Thursday (Christmas Eve) with a bumper email
to cover all the festive Premier League games.

Best wishes,

Matt Nesbitt
