Latest results - and Man Utd v West Ham tomorrow
Monday 22nd February 2010
In Football Betting Data today:
- Everton on top form...
- The bet that's paid out in 10 out of 10 Liverpool games...
- Tuesday night - Man Utd v West Ham
Everton are top of the Premier League 'Form Guide' table after
beating Man Utd 3-1 at Goodison Park on Saturday...
Everton have now beaten the top 2 - Chelsea and Man Utd - in their
last 2 home games. And their overall 'last 6 games' record is won 5,
drawn 1 and lost none.
Portsmouth on the other hand are bottom of the Premier League and
bottom on recent form too, with no wins, 2 draws and 4 defeats from
their last 6 games.
-
Everton are 8th in the league and 7 points behind Aston Villa
and Liverpool. They are now 4/1 on Betfair to finish in the Top 6
this season
-
Cash-strapped Portsmouth are all but relegated according to
the bookies - they are 1/50 to go down
Last week's results
The stats didn't go our way at all at the weekend, with only 1 of
our recommended bets paying out. The results at Arsenal, Wigan and
Aston Villa in particular were 'near misses'...
Arsenal 2 Sunderland 0
- FBD said: Quatro - Arsenal to win with 3 or more goals scored
in the match @ 11/10 - LOST
Arsenal won - but with just the 2 goals scored in the match. Going
on the stats and the chances Arsenal had, it should have been more.
Arsenal had 69% of Possession (the Premier League home average is
51%) and had 24 Shots compared to 7 for Sunderland.
Aston Villa 5 Burnley 2
- FBD said: Aston Villa To Win To Nil @ 11/8 - LOST
Aston Villa won, but the goals stats went out the window. Burnley
scored their 1st away Premier League goals since November - and
Villa conceded only their 3rd goal at home since November.
Burnley have the worst away record in the Premier League - won none,
drawn 1 and lost 13. And they've now lost their last 8 away games in
a row.
Wigan 0 Tottenham 3
- FBD said: Under 2.5 Goals @ 4/5 - LOST
For 90 minutes of the game, both teams' low goals trends looked set
to continue on the muddy pitch at the DW Stadium. Tottenham's last 9
games had all gone Under 2.5 Goals. It was 1-0 until Roman
Pavlyuchenko came on as a sub and scored 2 late goals, in the 84th
and 93rd minute.
Everton 3 Man Utd 1
Booking Points = Everton 50 pts Man Utd 10 pts.
Yellow Cards = Everton 5 Man Utd 1.
- FBD said: Man Utd to get Most Booking Points (and also for the
Booking Points to be a Draw) - LOST
Man Utd's Darren Fletcher got the First Card, putting Man Utd 10 pts
up on the Booking Points until halfway through the 2nd Half, when
Everton got 5 yellow cards in the last 25 minutes of the game. That
was only the 2nd time in 14 home games that Everton have received
the Most Booking Points this season.
Man City 0 Liverpool 0
- FBD said: Goal Line - Under 2.5 @ 5/6 - WON
The most boring game of the season? The OPTA match stats show just 2
Shots On Target in the game - no Premier League game has had less
than that this season. So at least the Goals stats stayed true to
form for us in this one, landing the Under 2.5 Goals bet.
Bets on Under 2.5 Goals have now paid out in 5 of the last 6 Man
City home games and in 8 Liverpool away games in a row.
The bet that's paid out in 10 out of 10 Liverpool games...
Liverpool's 'low goals' trend has to go down as one of the best bets
in the Premier League at the moment...
-
After that 0-0 draw at Man City yesterday - 10 out of 10
Liverpool games have paid out on Under 2.5 Goals bets
-
The last 8 Liverpool away Premier League games have all been
Under 2.5 Goals, with 3 goalless games in that period (0-0 score)
and just 8 goals in total in those 8 games
In fact, if you take into account their recent record in all
competitions - Premier League, FA Cup and the Europa League - bets
on Under 2.5 Goals have paid out in the last 13 Liverpool games in a
row.
That's an exceptional record and one to keep an eye on for Goals
bets.
However it's no coincidence that Liverpool's star striker and Top
Scorer - Fernando Torres - has been out injured for several weeks
during that run...
- Torres was a sub for Liverpool yesterday and came on in the
2nd Half against Man City. We'll need to watch out for him -
Liverpool's next Premier League game is at home to Blackburn Rovers
on Sunday.
Tuesday night - Man Utd v West Ham
It's the Champions League this week, before 8 Premier League games
at the weekend and the Carling Cup final between Aston Villa and Man
Utd on Sunday. Man Utd are also in action in the league tomorrow
night...

Man Utd lost 3-1 at Everton at the weekend at West Ham had a 3-0
home win over Hull - but there's no doubt who the bookies expect to
win here. Man Utd beat West Ham 4-0 at Upton Park earlier in the
season and are just 1/5 (1.20) for a home win on Tuesday night.
The Corners stats highlight a bet for this game...
-
Man Utd have won the Most Corners in 100% of home games
- with an average margin of +7.5 corners more than opponents
per game
-
For the season as a whole, Man Utd have won the Most Corners
in 24 out of 27 Premier League games - 89%
-
West Ham, in comparison, have been out-cornered in 10 out of
13 away games - 77%
-
For the season as a whole, West Ham have only won the Most
Corners in 8 out of 26 Premier League games - 31%
On recent form - Man Utd have won the Most Corners in 4 of their
last 5 Premier League games (and in every game at Old Trafford).
West Ham have been out-cornered in 4 of their last 5 away games.
- Man Utd won 6 corners more than West Ham in their away win at
Upton Park earlier this season (8-2)
The bookies will no doubt give Man Utd a big Corner Handicap to beat
for this game. But the stats say they are the team to follow - they
have won at least 5 corners more than opponents in 10 out of 13 home
games so far (77%), and at least 6 corners more in 8 out of 13 games
at Old Trafford (62%).
FBD says:
No markets up at time of writing when email originally sent on Mon 22nd Feb. Advice was to look for 'Man Utd -5 Corner Handicap' bets with William Hill, Bet365, Skybet and Paddy Power.
This update added 4pm Mon 22nd Feb - bet now available:
This bet wins if Man Utd win at least 6 corners more than West Ham.
