Cash-in on Liverpool v Portsmouth tonight
- and Wigan v Villa tomorrow

Monday 15th March 2010

In Football Betting Data today:

  • The title race...
  • Weekend winners...
  • Liverpool v Portsmouth tonight...
  • 7/1 yellow card specials...
  • Wigan v Aston Villa tomorrow...

The Premier League title race is looking like it will go the wire
this season - Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal all won at the weekend
and there are just 2 points between the Top 3. United are top right
now but if Chelsea win their game in hand they'll overtake them.
Here are the latest title odds...

Premier League - Outright Winner

Man Utd     6/4
Chelsea     6/4
Arsenal     11/4

Weekend winners...

The stats gave us 2 winning bets from Man Utd and Arsenal's games at
the weekend - here are the results.

Tottenham 3 Blackburn 1

Corners = Tottenham 5 Blackburn 6.
Booking Points = None.

FBD said:

  • Tottenham -2 Corner Handicap @ 4/6 - LOST

  • Most Booking Points - Blackburn @ 4/6 - LOST

The stats went out the window in this one with Blackburn winning the
Most Corners for only the 5th time in 15 away games this season.
There were no cards shown in the game, so the Booking Points was a
'tie' at zero points each.

Hull 1 Arsenal 2

Corners = Hull 2 Arsenal 8.

FBD said:

  • Asian Handicap Corners - Arsenal -3 @ 17/20 - WON

Arsenal didn't get their winning goal until injury time at the end
of the game - and in their hunt for the win they racked up 6 corners
more than Hull. Arsenal have now won the Most Corners in an
impressive 25 out of 30 games this season - 83%.

Man Utd 3 Fulham 0

Total Booking Points = 20 pts.
Total Cards = 2 yellow cards.

FBD said:

  • Asian Total Cards - Under 3 @ 3/4 - WON

Business as usual in this game - Man Utd won their 13th home game
out of 15 this season, Premier League top scorer Wayne Rooney hit 2
more goals... and there were just 2 yellow cards in the game. Bets
on Under 3.5 Cards or Under 35.5 Booking points would now have paid
out in 12 of Man Utd's last 16 games and 13 of the last 16 Fulham
games.

Sunderland 1 Man City 1

Total Booking Points = 60 pts.
Total Cards 6 yellow cards.

FBD said:

  • Number of Cards in Match - Over 3.5 @ 4/6 - WON

Both teams continued their recent 'high' Bookings trends on Sunday.
All of the last 6 Sunderland home games have now been Over 3.5 Cards
- and so have 5 of the last 6 Man City away games.

Birmingham 2 Everton 2

FBD said:

  • Match Result - Draw @ 12/5 - WON

The stats and recent form pointed to a Draw here - and that's how it
ended. Birmingham came back from 0-2 down to earn a point. Bets on
the Draw have paid out in 4 of the last 7 Birmingham home games and
4 of the last 7 Everton away games.

Next games - tonight and tomorrow...

The stats gave us a winning week - since Wigan v Liverpool last
Monday we've had 7 recommended bets and 5 winners. Those two teams
are in action again tonight and on Tuesday - here are the standout
stats.

Liverpool had a bad week last week, losing 1-0 at Wigan in the
league and 1-0 away at Lille in the Europa League. However their
recent home form has been good - they've won their last 6 Premier
League games in a row at Anfield. Portsmouth on the other hand have
lost 5 of their last 6 away games, and are rock bottom of the table.

Things haven't been going too well for either team recently - and
that has coincided with some 'high Bookings' games...

  • There have been at least 40 Booking Points (4 yellow cards or
more) in Liverpool's last 6 games in a row

  • And there have been at least 40 Booking Points in 7 of the
    last 8 Portsmouth games

7/1 yellow card specials...

Liverpool's two star players have been getting in Referee's bad
books recently...

  • Fernando Torres has been booked in 3 of his last 4 games. And
he's picked up a yellow card in 3 of his last 6 Premier League
    appearances

  • Steven Gerrard has been booked in 3 of his side's last 5
    Premier League games

At Paddy Power, Torres is 7/1 'To Be Booked' and 25/1 to be the '1st
player to be shown a card' tonight. Gerrard is 5/1 to be booked and
18/1 for the 1st card.

For the season as a whole, Liverpool home games are averaging 46.1
Total Booking Points and Portsmouth away games are averaging 36.4
pts.

Back in December, Portsmouth beat Liverpool 2-0 in a feisty game
that saw 5 yellow cards and a straight red card for Liverpool
midfielder Javier Mascherano - a total of 75 Booking Points.

The Referee for tonight's game is Stuart Attwell. Bets on Over 3.5
Cards
or Over 35.5 Booking Points would've paid out a winner in 4 of
the last 6
Premier League games he's been in charge of.

FBD says:

    Bet365

Also available - 'Total Bookings Points - Over 30' at 5/6 (1.83)

Wigan won 2-0 away at Aston Villa in the very first game of the
season. And since then both teams have had strong Under 2.5 Goals
records...

  • 71% of Wigan home games and 69% of Villa away games have paid
out on Under 2.5 Goals bets this season

  • Games at the DW Stadium are averaging 2.2 Total Goals. The
figure for Villa away games is just 1.9 goals

There have been 2 or less goals scored in 7 of Wigan's last 10
Premier League games and 8 of Villa's last 10 games.

  • 5 of the last 6 Wigan home games have been Under 2.5 Goals

  • Villa's last 6 away games have all been Under 2.5 Goals

In their last game at the DW Stadium, Wigan beat Liverpool 1-0.
Aston Villa drew 0-0 away at Stoke on Saturday. The stats point to
another Under 2.5 Goals bet tomorrow night.
