Last week's results
It was a bad week 'on the stats' with 4 of our 5 recommended bets
missing the mark. At both Portsmouth and Villa we were just 1 corner
kick away from a winning bet. However if you followed our list of
'Sunday scorers' in Friday's email you would've fared a lot better,
with Rooney, Torres and Drogba all scoring.
Everton 2 Bolton 0
FBD said: Over 2.5 Goals @ 10/11 - LOST
The goals didn't come until the last 20 minutes of the game at
Goodison Park - and we were 1 short of this bet winning. Everton
have now won their last 7 home games in a row, and scored at least 2
goals in each of those games.
Portsmouth 3 Hull 2
Total Corners = 12.
- FBD said: Asian Total Corners - Over 12 @ 39/40 - VOID (stakes
returned)
An eventful game at Fratton Park with Portsmouth coming from 1-2
down with 3 minutes left on the clock to win 3-2.
Both teams kept up their 70%+ trends for Over 10.5 Corners games,
but this game needed 13 corners to land the bet on offer at Bet365.
There were exactly 12 corners - so you will have got your money
back.
Aston Villa 2 Wolves 2
Total Corners = 12.
- FBD said: Asian Total Corners - Over 12.5 @ 7/8 - LOST
Again - we were just 1 corner away from landing the bet. There had
been at least 14 corners in the last 3 Villa games, and they remain
a team to watch for 'high' Total Corners bets.
Arsenal 2 West Ham 0
Corners = Arsenal 4 West Ham 2.
- FBD said: Asian Handicap Corners - Arsenal -5.5 @ 9/10 - LOST
Arsenal kept up their impressive record for winning the Most Corners
at home, but didn't win enough to land this Corner Handicap bet.
Arsenal played half the game with 10 men after Thomas Vermaelen was
sent off in the 44th minute - so that didn't help. Arsenal have now
won the Most Corners in 14 out of 16 games at the Emirates Stadium -
88%.
Man Utd 2 Liverpool 1
Time of First Goal = 5 mins.
- FBD said: Time of First Goal - After 27th Minute @ Evens - LOST
Man Utd have won their last 8 home games in a row and only 2 of
those games has seen a goal scored before 27th minute. Fernando
Torres opening the scoring for Liverpool in the 5th minute.
A good weekend for strikers...
In Friday's email I highlighted 3 players to watch for Goalscorer
bets, with the best prices on offer at Coral. All 3 of them hit the
back of the net on Sunday.
-
Wayne Rooney scored Man Utd's equaliser v Liverpool. He's now
scored 12 goals in his last 11 games in all competitions. He was
Evens to Score Anytime
-
Didier Drogba scored the First Goal in the Blackburn v Chelsea
game. He's now got 8 goals in 7 league games in 2010. Drogba was
10/11 to Score Anytime and 7/2 to be First Goalscorer
-
Fernando Torres scored the opening goal for Liverpool at Old
Trafford. He's now got 6 in 6 games since returning from injury.
Torres was 11/5 to Score Anytime and 13/2 to be First Goalscorer
22/1 Darren Bent bet on course...
Talking of strikers, Sunderland hit-man Darren Bent scored twice
against Birmingham on Saturday. He's 3rd in the Top Scorer table
with 20 goals, behind Rooney and Drogba.
In our Top Scorers preview at the start of the season, we
recommended Bent at 22/1 each way with Paddy Power to be Top Scorer
with a +11 goals 'handicap'...
Rooney and Bent are fighting it out at the top of the 'handicap'
table:
Rooney 26 goals +5.5 handicap = 31.5
Bent 20 goals + 11 handicap = 31
Drogba 22 goals +4.5 handicap = 26.5
With 8 games to go Bent has certainly got a shot at winning that
22/1 bet. And the each way terms of 1/4 the odds for the top 3
players mean a profit of some sort looks on the cards.
Tuesday and Wednesday games...
There are 5 Premier League games taking place on Tuesday and
Wednesday night this week, before a full programme at the weekend.
I'll write to you again tomorrow with a look at the midweek games.
