The recent home and away form points to the bet here:

  • Blackburn have won 4 of their last 5 home games - and drew 1-1
    against title-chasing Chelsea on Sunday

  • Birmingham have lost 4 of their last 5 away games - including
a 3-1 defeat at 13th-placed Sunderland last weekend

The Form data on our site shows Blackburn at home are averaging more
total Shots For and Shots On Target than Birmingham away, and less
Shots Against.

Blackburn's home record for the season is won 8 drawn 5 and lost 2.
That's the best home record in the bottom half of the Premier League
table.

Birmingham are sitting higher in the league than Blackburn thanks to
a unbeaten run of games over the winter - however no team in the top
half has lost more away games than them (8).

  • Blackburn have only conceded 2 goals in their last 5 games at
    Ewood Park

  • Birmingham have conceded 11 goals in their last 5 away games

The recent form points to a bet on the home team.

FBD says:

  • Blackburn to beat Birmingham at 11/10 (2.10) with Skybet

Also available at 21/20 (2.05) with William Hill, Boylesports and
Betfred.

Take a look at the league table and it's no surprise that Chelsea
are just 3/10 (1.30) to win at Portsmouth. Chelsea are chasing the
Premier League title and have won 20 games this season - Portsmouth
are rock bottom and have lost 20 times.

However the recent form says it might not be all plain sailing for the
London side. Portsmouth have only won 2 of their last 5 games - but
Chelsea have only won 2 of their last 5, too...

  • Portsmouth have scored in their last 11 games at Fratton Park,
including goals against Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal

  • Chelsea have only kept 3 Clean Sheets in their last 10 games,
and have conceded in 4 of their last 5 away games

Both teams have above average Shots For stats. Portsmouth average 17
Shots For
per home game - the Premier League average is 15 Shots.
Chelsea average 19 Shots For per away game - the average is 12.

  • Earlier this season Chelsea beat Portsmouth 2-1 at Stamford
    Bridge

'Both teams' have scored in the last 6 Portsmouth games and in 4 of
the last 5 Chelsea
games.

Portsmouth have scored in each of their last 11 home games. Chelsea
have scored in every game but 1 so far this season - finding the
back of the net in 29 games out 30.

FBD says:

  • 'Both Teams To Score - Yes' @ 11/10 (2.10) with Paddy Power

Also available at 21/10 (2.05) with William Hill or Evens (2.00)
with Bet365.

The Corners stats also highlight a bet in this game.

  • 73% of Portsmouth's games this season have gone Over 10.5
    Corners
    - 22 out of 30

  • 76% of Chelsea's games this season have gone Over 10.5 Corners
    - 23 out of 30

  • 80% (12 out of 15) of Portsmouth home games have gone Over
    10.5 Corners

  • 80% of (12 out of 15) Chelsea's away games have also gone
    Over 10.5 Corners

Portsmouth's home games are producing an average of 12.4 corners
while Chelsea away games are averaging 12.9 corners.

Here are the Total Corners bets available at the time of writing:

Over 10.5 Corners is 7/15 with Expekt - needs 11 or more win
Over 11.5 Corners is 5/8 with Extrabet - needs 12 or more to win
Over 12 Corners is 10/11 with Bet365 - needs 13 or more to win

Bet on Over 10.5 Corners have paid out in 4 of Portsmouth's last 5
home
games and in 4 of Chelsea's last 5 away games. And when Chelsea
beat Portsmouth 2-1 at Stamford Bridge in December - the game
produced 13 corners.

FBD says:

  • 'Total Corners - Over 10.5' @ 7/15 (1.47) with Expekt

Goalscorers to follow this week...

I highlighted Didier Drogba's goal-scoring form at the weekend - he
scored at Blackburn on Sunday - and he's the bookies' favourite to
score again in the Portsmouth v Chelsea game on Wednesday night.

  • Drogba has scored 8 goals in 7 league games since the start of
2010, and is 2nd in the Premier League Top Scorer table with 22
goals in total. He's 4/5 to Score Anytime v Portsmouth and 3/1 to be
    the First Goalscorer with Coral

John Carew has scored 13 goals for Aston Villa in all competitions
this season - and 9 of them have been scored at Villa Park. That
includes 5 out of 6 league goals scored at home...

  • Carew has been in good form lately, with 7 goals in his last 6
appearances, including both goals in the 2-2 home draw with Wolves
last weekend. He's 7/5 to Score Anytime v Sunderland and 5/1 to be
    First Goalscorer with Bet365

And for the Man City v Everton game...

  • Carlos Tevez has scored 10 goals in last 10 games in all
competitions. Including 4 goals in his last 5 Premier League games.
Tevez is 11/8 to Score Anytime and 9/2 to be First Goalscorer with
    Stan James
