The standout stats for Man City v Man Utd Friday 16th April 2010 In Football Betting Data today:
There are a couple of eye-catching games on TV this weekend, with Man City v Man Utd on live on Sky Sports and Tottenham v Chelsea live on ESPN on Saturday. Read on for the standout stats and my recommended bets for the weekend. But first, news of 2 midweek winners… Midweek winners…Chelsea 1 Bolton 0
The goals stats gave us a winner here - Bolton have now lost their last 4 away games ‘To Nil’ and have only scored in 1 of their last 6 Premier League games. Wigan 0 Portsmouth 0
Under 2.5 Goals turned out to be the better option here – the ‘First Goal’ never came. Aston Villa 2 Everton 2
The Premier League’s ‘draw specialists’ were at it again on Wednesday night. An injury time own goal salvaged a point for Villa – 8 of their last 13 games have now been Draws, and so have 4 of Everton’s last 6 games. This one was a good priced winner for us at 12/5. The last 3 games between Villa and Everton have all been draws.

These two city rivals have already played each other 3 times this season across the league and the Carling Cup, with all 3 games going Over 2.5 Goals… Man Utd won 4-3 at Old Trafford in the Premier League, and the Cup ties ended 3-1 at Man Utd and 2-1 at City.
For the season as whole both teams’ Under / Over records are about 50/50. But in recent weeks both teams have been scoring plenty of goals. City have scored 16 times in their last 5 games and United have scored 10…
There will be some in-form strikers on show on Saturday lunchtime, and that’s a good sign for a ‘high goals’ game. Premier League top scorer Wayne Rooney is odds-on to return from injury for Man Utd, while Carlos Tevez and Emmanuel Adebayor have scored 9 goals between them in City’s last 3 games.
Fulham v Wolves Sat 17th April, 3pm
These two match-up well on the Cards and Booking Points stats…
Fulham’s last 10 home games have ALL been Under 3.5 Cards and Under 35.5 Booking Points - a very impressive record. Bets on Under 3.5 Cards and Under 35.5 Booking Points would’ve paid out a winner in 8 of Wolves’ last 10 Premier League game. Last week they drew 0-0 with Stoke and there were no bookings in the game. When Wolves beat Fulham 2-1 earlier in the season, there was just 1 yellow card (10 pts) in the game. The Referee for this one - Mike Dean - has taken charge of 2 Fulham games and 1 Wolves game this season, and those ‘Under’ bets would’ve paid out in all 3 of them.
Sat 17th April, 3pm
The stats point to just one player here – Darren Bent… Bent is the joint-3rd top scorer in the Premier League with 22 goals, and 16 of them (73%) have been scored at home. He’s scored 7 goals in Sunderland’s last 4 games at the Stadium of Light (and he managed to miss 2 penalties in one of those games, too). Bent got Sunderland’s goal in their 3-1 defeat at Burnley earlier this season, and considering Burnley haven’t kept a Clean Sheet in any of their last 23 games, he looks by far the most likely player to score against them again this weekend.
Sat 17th April, 5.30pm live on ESPN
Tottenham did Chelsea a bit of a favour during the week, effectively ending Arsenal's challenge for the title with a confidence boosting 2-1 win. Chelsea are favourites with the bookies, but looks a difficult match result to predict - plus the outcome of the earlier kick-offs is likely to influence how the two teams' approach this one. But there is an outstanding match-up in both teams' Booking stats...
Tottenham have only picked up the First Card in 24% of games at White Hart Lane. Chelsea have received the First Card in over half of their away games. Add to this, Tottenham's most combative player Wilson Palacios (10 Yellow Cards) will miss the match through suspension. So Chelsea look a solid bet to continue the trend of picking up the 1st Booking.
Wigan v Arsenal Sun 18th April, 1.30pm live on Sky Sports 1
‘Low Corners’ bets have paid out in the majority of both teams’ recent games…
Both teams’ games are averaging Under 11 Total Corners. The average for Wigan home games is 10.6 Total Corners and the figure for Arsenal away games is 10.4. There were 10 corners in Arsenal’s 4-0 win over Wigan at the Emirates Stadium earlier this season, 6 corners to Arsenal and 4 to Wigan. Bets on Under 10.5 Corners and Under 11 Corners have paid out a winner in 4 of the last 5 Arsenal away games.
Sun 18th April, 4pm live on Sky Sports 1
Aston Villa’s corners stats have provided one of the most reliable bets of the season…
There were 12 corners in the game when Villa beat Portsmouth 2-0 earlier this season. And Portsmouth match-up well for an ‘Over’ bet on Sunday:
There were 11 corners in Portsmouth’s 0-0 draw at Wigan on Wednesday night and 14 corners in Aston Villa’s 2-2 draw with Everton. The stats point to another ‘Over’ game on Sunday afternoon.
I’ll be back on Monday with the latest Premier League results and a look at the stats for the live Monday night game between Liverpool v West Ham… Best wishes, Matt Nesbitt Football Betting Data www.FootballBettingData.co.uk Password: *****
