A winning weekend - and the title race is back on!

Monday 19th April 2010

In Football Betting Data today:

  • The title race is back on!
  • Weekend results - 4 out of 6 winners...
  • Liverpool v West Ham tonight...

After an amazing weekend in the Premier League, the title race is
definitely 'back on'...

Man Utd beat Man City with a late, late winner from Paul Scholes
on Saturday - then leaders Chelsea lost 2-1 at Tottenham - meaning
the gap at the top is now just 1 point with 3 games to go...

  • Chelsea are still the favourites to win - but now out to 8/13 from
    1/7 before the weekend

  • Man Utd have been cut from 7/1 to just 11/8 to win the Premier League

Weekend results - 4 out of 6 winners...

The stats gave us a profitable weekend, following on from the 2 winning
bets from the midweek games last week. Here are results from the games
in our Friday email.

Man City 0 Man Utd 1

  • FBD said: Over 2.5 Goals @ 4/5 - LOST

The stats said to expect goals in this one, but it was heading for 0-0
until United got a dramatic later winner.

Fulham 0 Wolves 0

Total Cards = 1 yellow.
Total Booking Points = 10 pts.

  • FBD said: Asian Total Cards - Under 3 @ 9/10 - WON

A classic 'end of season' game at Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon
- no goals and just 1 yellow card (10 Booking Points). Fulham's last 11
home games have now all been Under 35.5 Booking Points, and so have 9
of the last 10 Wolves games
.

'Low goals' bets and the 0-0 Correct Score are also worth following
between now and the end of the season - 4 of Fulham's last 10 games
have been 0-0 draws, and 3 of the last 4 Wolves games have also been 0-
0
. The 0-0 Correct Score paid out at 8/1 on Saturday.

Sunderland 2 Burnley 1

  • FBD said: Darren Bent to Score Anytime @ Evens - WON

The stats pointed to just one bet in this game - Darren Bent to score -
and he did the business again at the weekend, scoring the 2nd goal of
the game. Bent has now got 23 Premier League goals for the season, with
17 of them (74%) coming at home.

Tottenham 2 Chelsea 1

First Card = Alex, 15 mins (Chelsea)

  • FBD said: First Team Card - Chelsea @ 17/20 - WON

A surprise win for Tottenham maybe, but there were no surprises on the
'Bookings stats.' Chelsea received the First Card of the game and also
picked up the Most Booking Points (65 pts to 20 pts), with captain John
Terry sent off in the 2nd Half. Bets on Chelsea to get the First Card
have now paid out in 9 of their last 11 away games.

Wigan 3 Arsenal 2

Total Corners = 11.

  • FBD said: Under 10.5 Corners @ 5/4 - LOST

An incredible game at the DW Stadium on Sunday afternoon, with Wigan
coming from 0-2 down with just 11 minutes remaining to win 3-2. Our
corners bet was a near miss - the corner kick that led to Titus
Bramble's 89th-minute goal was the 11th of the game.

  • If you managed to find an Under 11.5 Corners bet for this game then
you'd have landed a winner. Extrabet went up with that option at the
weekend, and Stan James have also started to offer Under 11.5 for live
    TV games.

Portsmouth 1 Aston Villa 2

Total Corners = 13.

  • FBD said: Over 11.5 Corners @ 68/100 - WON

Two of the Premier League's most reliable 'high corners' teams went
head-to- head yesterday, and they didn't disappoint. There were
13 corners in the game. 72% of Portsmouth home games and 83%
of Villa away games
have now gone Over 10.5 Corners this season.
And bets on Over 11.5 Corners have paid out in 15 of Aston Villa's
last 16 games.

Now a look at the stats for tonight's game...

Form clearly states that Liverpool should win this. But without chief
goal threat Fernando Torres (out for the rest of the season), there
looks to be a more reliable trend in the Bookings market...

  • Liverpool have only received the 1st Card in 17.6% of home
    matches
    this season

  • Liverpool have only received the 1st Card in 2 of their last 10
    home matches

  • Liverpool haven't received the Most Booking Points in ANY of
    their last 10 home matches

  • West Ham have received the Most Booking Points in 7 of their last
    10 away matches

  • West Ham have received the 1st Card in 7 of their last 10 away
    matches

  • West Ham have received the 1st Card in 70.6% of away matches this
    season

All those stats point to bets on West Ham in the 'First Card' and 'Most
Booking Points'
markets tonight. Both options are odds-on with the
bookies - but both are very well-supported by the stats.

FBD says:

  • '1st Team Carded - West Ham' @ 1/2 (1.50) with Skybet, Blue Square and 888 Sport

And

  • 'Team with Most Booking Points - West Ham' @ 4/7 (1.57) with Skybet or 1/2 with William Hill, Blue Square and 888 Sport
