Five ways to cash-in on the Bank Holiday weekend
Friday 30th April 2010
In Football Betting Data today:
- Cash-in on the penultimate weekend of the season...
- 5 recommended bets...
- Profit from another 'dead rubber'...
There are just 2 weekends to go in the Premier League...
The relegation places are done and dusted, with Portsmouth, Burnley
and Hull all facing up to life in the Championship next season. But
there's still all to play for in the title race with just 1 point
between Chelsea and Man Utd at the top of the table. Chelsea are
away at Liverpool on Sunday and United are away to Sunderland (see
below).
In the race for 4th spot and a Champions League qualification place,
Man City (6th) and Aston Villa (5th) battle it out on Saturday
afternoon, with Tottenham (4th) at home to Bolton.

As I have time mentioned time and time again over the past few weeks
- Aston Villa are a great team for 'high corners' bets...
Man City home games average 12.0 Total Corners. And that looks
pretty accurate - there have been exactly 12 corners in the last 2
Man City home games, and there were exactly 12 corners in the Aston
Villa v Man City game earlier this season.
For the season as a whole, home and away, 80% of Aston Villa games
have gone Over 10.5 Corners. Bets on Over 12 Corners have paid out
in 9 of their last 11 games, with exactly 12 corners in the other 2
games.
The average for Aston Villa away games is 13.2 Total Corners. And
there were 20 corners in Villa's last away game (v Hull).
FBD says:
- 'Over 11.5 Corners' @ 3/5 (1.60) with Extrabet
This bet wins if there are 12 or more corners in the game. Also look
for Over 11 Corners with Stan James and Skybet this weekend.

It's all on Man Utd to win here - Sunderland are safe in mid-table,
while United are chasing the Premier League title. Man Utd are just
2/5 (1.40) for an away win. The Cards and Bookings stats point to a
better best though...
For the season as a whole, Sunderland have received the First Card
in a high 72% of games at the Stadium of Light. The Premier League
home average is just 38%. Man Utd have got the First Card in 50% of
away games, below the league average of 67%.
Sunderland have picked up the First Card in home games against all
the top teams this season - landing bets on them against Arsenal,
Aston Villa, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham.
FBD says:
- 'First Team Card - Sunderland' @ 8/11 (1.73) with Bet365
Check also for First Card bets with William Hill, Blue Square, 888

There might not be much to get excited about in this one - Wigan are
safe and Hull are going down - but the Corners stats point out an
opportunity for a bet...
Hull have one of the worst corners records in the Premier League.
Their away averages are 3.1 Corners For and 8.6 Corners Against -
with opponents winning an average of over 5 corners more than them
per game.
The bookies have given Wigan a '-3 Corner Handicap' for Monday's
game. They would've landed that bet in their last 3 games at the DW
Stadium. Bets on Hull's opponent with a '-3 Corner Handicap' have
paid out a winner in 3 of their last 5 away games.

There's not much to play for in this game - Blackburn will finish in
mid-table and Arsenal have got 3rd place pretty much wrapped up -
and that could bode well for a 'low corners' bet...
There were 9 corners in the game when Arsenal hammered Blackburn 6-2
earlier in the season...
Both teams are on a strong run of 'low corners' games, with the last
5 Blackburn games and 9 of the last 11 Arsenal games paying out on
Under 10.5 Corners bets.
And finally...
Profit from another 'dead rubber' this weekend...
I highlighted Wolves as a team to watch for 'Draws' and 'low
Bookings' games last week, with those options paying out a winner v
Blackburn - and the same bets are well worth a look this weekend...

Portsmouth are bottom of the Premier League and relegated. Wolves
are safe, and they can't finish any higher than 15th (currently
14th).
-
Portsmouth have drawn 3 of their last 4 games
-
Wolves have drawn their last 3 games in a row, and 5 of their
last 7 games have ended in a draw
Coral and Skybet offer 12/5 (3.40) for Portsmouth and Wolves to
'Draw' this weekend...

league/
And in the Cards and Bookings markets...
Bets on 'Under 2.5 Cards' (25 or less Booking Points) have paid out
in 6 of the last 8 Portsmouth games and 5 of the last 6 Wolves
games. Those are impressive 'low' records, with 2 or less yellow
cards in the majority of both teams' end-of-season games.
The Referee for this one is Mike Jones - bets on 'Under 2.5 Cards'
would've paid out a winner in 3 of the last 5 Premier League games
that he's been in charge of.
- A Double on the 'Draw' and 'Under 2.5 Cards' pays 11/2 (6.50)
with Bet365
There are 2 'games in hand' to catch up on next week. Fulham play
Stoke on Wednesday night, but the big one is the clash between Man
City and Tottenham that night - potentially a 'play-off' for the
final Champions League place...
I'll be back in touch after the Bank Holiday weekend with the latest
results and a look at those 2 games.
Best wishes,
Matt Nesbitt
