Bank Holiday weekend results...
It's 'as you were' at the top of the Premier League after the
penultimate weekend's games... Chelsea won 2-0 at Liverpool, and Man
Utd won 1-0 at Sunderland - keeping the Blues 1-point clear at the
top with just 1 game to play...
Chelsea are at home to Wigan on Sunday. If they win that game, they
win the league. They also win the league if Man Utd fail to better
their result. United are at home to Stoke. The bookies reckon the
race is all but over - Chelsea are 1/10 to win the title and Man Utd
are 7/1.
We had 3 out of 5 winners from our standout stats at the weekend -
here are those results...
Manchester City 3 Aston Villa 1
Total Corners = 17.
- FBD said: 'Over 11.5 Corners' @ 3/5 - WON
Aston Villa 'high corners' will go down as one of the most
consistent bets of the season - 30 out of 37 games have now gone
Over 10.5 Corners (81%). Their away record is even higher, at 84%.
The same bet has also paid out in 72% of Man City home games. There
were a whopping 17 corners in Saturday's game, landing all Total
Corners 'Over' bets available with the bookies.
- That 3-1 win keeps Man City's challenge alive for 4th place
alive (see Man City v Tottenham below) - while ending Villa's hopes
of Champions League qualification
Sunderland 0 Manchester United 1
First Card = N.Vidic, Man Utd, 41 mins.
Booking Points = Sunderland 30 pts, Man Utd 20 pts.
- FBD said: 'First Team Card - Sunderland' @ 8/11 - LOST
Sunderland picked up the Most Booking Points, but a Man Utd player
received the First Card - Nemanja Vidic was shown a Yellow Card for
sarcastically applauding the Referee in the 1st Half. Sunderland
have got the Most Booking Points in their last 6 games in a row, and
the First Card in 5 of their last 6.
- That result keeps Man Utd 1 point behind Chelsea in the
Premier League title race - with 1 game to go
Wigan 2 Hull 2
Corners = Wigan 8 Hull 1.
- FBD said: Wigan '-3 Corner Handicap' @ 19/20 - WON
There wasn't much to play for in this game (Hull are relegated), but
the Corners stats gave us a winning bet. Wigan won 7 corners more
than Hull (8-1), landing all Corner Handicap options with the
bookies. Wigan have now won the Most Corners in 6 of their last 7
games.
Hull on the other hand are one of the worst corner winners in the
Premier League - they've only won the Most Corners in 2 of their
last 24 games.
Blackburn 2 Arsenal 1
Total Corners = 13.
- FBD said: 'Asian Total Corners - Under 10.5' @ 4/5 - LOST
A surprise result all round at Ewood Park yesterday - Blackburn were
3/1 outsiders to beat Arsenal, and that was their first game in 6 to
go 'Over' 10.5 Corners.
Portsmouth 3 Wolves 1
Total Cards = 1 Yellow Card.
Total Booking Points = 10 pts.
- FBD said: 'Number of Cards in Match - Under 2.5' @ Evens - WON
Bets on 'Under 2.5 Cards' have now paid out in 7 of the last 9
Portsmouth games and 6 of the last 7 Wolves games. Those are
impressive 'low' records. There was just 1 Yellow Card in Saturday's
game.
The Referee for that one was Mike Jones - bets on 'Under 2.5 Cards'
would've paid out a winner in 4 of the last 6 Premier League games
that he's been in charge of.
Aston Villa - corner monsters...
There were 17 corners in Aston Villa's 3-1 defeat at Man City at the
weekend. Their last 12 games in a row have now all paid out a winner
on Over 10.5 Corners and Over 11.5 Corners bets...
- There have been at least 12 corners in 18 of Aston Villa's
last 19 games - a tremendous 'high corners' record
End-of-season 'low Bookings' games...
There were no sending offs in the Premier League at the weekend, and
8 of the 10 games had 3 or less yellow cards (30 or less Booking
Points) - paying out on 'Under 3.5 Cards' bets.
There was just 1 yellow card (10 pts) in the Portsmouth v Wolves
game, and No Bookings at all in both the Stoke v Everton game and
the Fulham v West Ham game.
-
Look out for more 'low Bookings' games on the final day of the
season this weekend - I'll highlight particular games and bets to
look for in your Friday email...
-
Plus - Fulham play Stoke tomorrow night - see below for the
Bookings stats for that one...
There are 2 games on Wednesday night - here are the standout
stats...

There's nothing really to play for in this one - both teams will
finish around mid-table, and Fulham have the Europa League final to
concentrate on this month.
Both teams have drawn 2 of their last 4 games by a 0-0 score - and
Stoke have drawn more games than any other Premier League team this
season (14 draws)...
- The Draw is 12/5 with the bookies, while another goalless game
is 9/1 with Sportingbet
The Cards and Booking Points stats highlight the best option though.
Fulham's last 11 home games have all gone Under 35.5 Booking Points
- paying out on 'Under 3.5 Cards' bets every time...
In fact, the lower 'Under 2.5 Cards' option has also paid out a
winner in 9 of the last 11 games at Craven Cottage - with just 2 or
less Yellow Cards (20 or less Booking Points) in those games.
-
When Stoke beat Fulham 3-2 at the Britannia Stadium this
season, there was just 1 Yellow Card in the game
-
There were No Cards in Fulham's game v West Ham last
weekend... and there were also No Cards shown in Stoke's last game,
against Everton
All the stats point to another 'low Bookings' game tomorrow night.
There's definitely all to play for in Wednesday night's live TV
game...
Tomorrow night - the 4th place 'play off'
There's a HUGE game live on Sky Sports tomorrow night - 5th place
Man City take on 4th place Tottenham. There is just 1 point between
them in the battle for 4th place - and the final Champions League
qualification spot.
After tomorrow's game, Man City are away to West Ham on the final
day and Tottenham travel to Burnley. If Man City beat Tottenham on
Wednesday then they would get 4th place with a win over West Ham on
Sunday. If Tottenham win or draw at City, then a win at Burnley
would give them 4th place.
Right now the bookies make Tottenham 4/5 favourites to finish in 4th
spot, with Man City at Evens. It cold all rest on tomorrow night's
result - let's take a look at the stats...

Both teams' form has been a bit erratic lately - Man City have lost
at home to Everton and Man Utd, but also beaten Aston Villa and
recorded big wins over Birmingham (5-1 at home) and Burnley (6-1
away). After losing the FA Cup semi final to Portsmouth, Tottenham
beat both Arsenal and Chelsea 2-1 at White Hart Lane, then lost 3-1
at Man Utd, followed by a 1-0 home win over Bolton.
With so much at stake - the Match Result looks tough to call.
However the Corners stats highlight a good option:
-
72% of Man City home games and 53% of Tottenham away games
have been Over 10.5 Corners...
-
There were 11 corners when Tottenham beat Man City 3-0 earlier
in the season...
-
There were 17 corners in the Man City v Aston Villa game on
Saturday and 18 corners in the Tottenham v Bolton game...
-
Bets on Over 10.5 Corners have paid out in 7 of the last 9
Tottenham games...
-
And the higher Over 11.5 Corners bet has paid out in 4 of the
last 5 Man City games
The stats suggest another 'high Corners' game at the City of
Manchester Stadium tomorrow night...
