Chelsea stroll to the Premier League title...
Monday 10th May 2010
Chelsea comfortably wrapped up the Premier League title by smashing
Wigan 8-0 at Stamford Bridge yesterday - in the process scoring a
record breaking 103 goals in a Premier League season.
Chelsea have been installed as 7/4 favourites with the bookies to
retain their title next season. Manchester United are next in the
betting at 2/1. They signed off their season with a 4-0 home win
over Stoke.
Let's take a look at how our recommended bets got on...
Results round-up...
Chelsea 8 Wigan 0
FBD said: 'Match Handicap - Chelsea -2' @ 10/11 - WON
Chelsea have had some impressive results at Stamford Bridge this
season, scoring 7 goals on no less than 3 previous occasions, but
yesterday they managed to hit Wigan for 8! Easily covering the
bookies' '-2 Match Handicap'.
Arsenal 4 Fulham 0
Team Corners = Arsenal 5 Fulham 2.
FBD said: 'Arsenal -3 Corner Handicap' - Bet not available
Arsenal '-3 Corner Handicap' was not available yesterday. The
smallest handicap was '-5' at Bet365. Arsenal did go onto to win the
Most Corners in the match 5-2. They finish the season having won the
Most Corners in 17 of their 19 home games (89%).
Aston Villa 0 Blackburn 1
Total Corners = 16.
FBD said: 'Over 11 Corners' @ 8/13 - WON
Once again a game involving Aston Villa produced a high corner
total. 19 of Villa's last 20 games have had at least 12 or more
corners in them - 95%.
Everton 1 Portsmouth 0
Team Corners = Everton 14 Portsmouth 1.
FBD said: 'Everton Corner Handicap' - WON
Everton '-4 Corner Handicap' was available at Skybet. David Moyes'
men easily overcame that winning 14 corners compared to Portsmouth's
1. Portsmouth finish the season only having won the Most Corners in
1 of their 19 away games.
Wolves 2 Sunderland 1
Team Booking Points = Wolves 10 Sunderland 70.
FBD said: 'Sunderland Most Booking Points' - Bet not available
Unfortunately Sunderland to get the Most Booking Points was not
available. Sunderland had 2 men sent off against Wolves - giving
them a whopping 70 Booking Points compared to the home sides 10.
Sunderland have received the Most Booking Points in 16 of their 19
away games this season (84%).
Top Drog!
A hat-trick from Didier Drogba in Chelsea's 8-0 win over Wigan meant
he finished the season as Top Scorer with 29 league goals, 3 in
front of Wayne Rooney. Out of the Top 5 Premier League scorers -
only Drogba and Frank Lampard found the back of the net on the final
day.
4 out of 5 games 'Under' the Cards...
Last weekend 8 of the 10 Premier League games went 'Under 3.5 Cards'
(Under 35.5 Booking Points).
So in Friday's email I highlighted some potential 'low' cards games
coming up on the final day. 4 of the 5 games mentioned at Burnley,
Manchester United, West Ham and Everton all went Under 3.5 Cards/
Under 35.5 Booking Points.
No Cards were shown in the games between Burnley v Tottenham and
Everton v Portsmouth.
Another Premier League season is now done and dusted but I'll still
have my head in the stats for a few weeks yet.
On Friday I'll be back in touch with an FA Cup Final special...
Best wishes,
Matt Nesbitt
